New Star Twist Diagrams

star twist

Francesco Decio taught this model of mine at the Italian CDO convention in Verbania, in December. I was really impressed to see that he had made some great instructions, much much better than the confusing CP that I made a while back.

He also sent me some great instructions for my simple octagonal twist, which again are very clear and understandable!

I’m really thankful that he created these wonderful instructions, and furthermore that he has shared them with me and allowed me to share them with you.

I get the hexagonal twist part, but how do you turn it into a star?

well, it’s a relatively tricky model to fold – I must admit that I don’t fold it much due to the complexity of putting it together :)

And for that matter the folding sequence that Francesco worked out here is different than the one I use; it’s much better, really, but not exactly how my mind works when I think about such things. So I’m afraid that I can’t be of too much help with this until I get around to diagramming it myself, someday.

I do believe he made some more intricate diagrams for the Oct. 2007 CDO magazine? it might be worth looking into.

I think the files were very usefull. I could do the two of them but the one that says two layers is actually of three layers and vice-versa. I don“t now if I do it in the right sequence. I just understand the model doing it from the exterior to the interior, so the twist was the last thing that I did.
