interesting and odd japanese blog

house dust did some searching on technorati for Yuko Nishimura and I found that future feeder posted a link! great to see the word being spread. followed another link, and saw this blog which had not only a nishimura photo, but a photo from my flickr account! that was pretty pleasing to see, even if I can’t understand anything on the page. It’s like a linkfest blog of cool and interesting things; reminds me a bit of the Akihabara watch blog. I like gadgets, so it’s now on my RSS “watchlist” !

Chihiro Tanaka; Ta-Tile Co., Ltd.

Ta-Tile A very impressive fabric lamp that is made out of stitched fabric folded into a tessellation style pattern. it doesn’t say much more than that, but it’s quite interesting to look at! this reminds me of the fabric art of Takahiro Shirai, which I have really enjoyed looking at (I’m hoping to see more, some day!) here is an example of Shirai’s work…

tsuru artwork in acrylic

it glows! Originally uploaded by R.bean. a wonderfully crafty acquaintance on flickr created this artwork- it has many, many cranes involved! she really taps into some strange, art/design/geometry zeitgeist with effortless ease. I’m envious, to say the least!
