I concur wholeheartedly – I find that limiting myself to one piece of paper with no cuts really helps me avoid the “how complicated and difficult can I make this?” question.
It’s easier to operate within certain boundaries, at least for me.
I have Paper Forest in my RSS feed, and some of the mechanical papercraft stuff that he posts is just insane. Because when you have less limitations on your modelling medium, you can get closer to real life details- which means you’re always falling short of perfection, if that’s your goal.
… or something like that.
There’s something kind of funny about all the papercraft guns, though- someone’s a bit obsessed there, I think!
